Q:  Will my perennials survive the watering restrictions this summer?

A: More than likely they will. Some won’t grow as large or bloom as heavily, but they should all survive.  Be sure to mulch bare soil to keep the soil cooler, reduce water loss and keep down weeds. Feed less to reduce lush, water intensive leaf growth. Water deeply to encourage roots to grow deeply. We are all probably guilty of overwatering our perennials to some degree and you may find less water produce plants with stockier stems that won’t require staking.
