Q: I planted quite a few tulips and daffodils in September. Do I need to water them through the winter?

A: Winter watering is very important to the roots of your fall-planted bulbs' performance in the spring. Bulbs that go too dry during the winter will produce some leaves in the spring but the flowers will blast before they have a chance to open. A good soak once a month, November through March, will pay beautiful dividends.
